Ziac – for a healthy heart
Ziac contains the ingredients bisoprolol and hydrochlorothiazide. Ziac is a very efficient drug that can used to combat high blood pressure. Bisoprolol is the first ingredient and it is a beta blocker that is used to regulate blood pressure.
Hydrochlorothiazide, is the second ingredient of Ziac. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that is very effective in helping the body eliminate fluid retention through urine and sweating, thus preventing swelling.

Ziac can be used:
- to reduce risk of a heart attack
- to reduce high blood pressure
- to reduce chest pains
Dosage
- Ziac must be taken strictly according to your doctor’s directions. You should take each required dose of Ziac with a glass of water in the morning to avoid the potential for urinating during the night.
- If you skip a dose take it as soon as you can but not too close of the next dose. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular administration. Do not take two doses at once as you could overdose on Ziac.
- Even if you feel better you should not stop taking Ziac. Ziac does not cure high blood pressure only treats the condition that you are suffering from. After consultation with your doctor your doctor can advise if it is appropriate to stop using Ziac.
Precautions
- Ziac may cause dizziness or difficulty concentrating.
- Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery while taking this medication.Ziac decreases blood sugar level. You should consult your doctor before using this medicine to ensure that you are not diabetic. If you are a diabetic you should consult a doctor prior to using this medication.
- Inform your doctor or dentist prior to surgery that you take Ziac, as this medication can interact with drugs commonly used during surgery.Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Ziac
- Other medications, when taken with Ziac, may either decrease, alter, or cause serious side effects. Consult a doctor before taking other medications while using Ziac
- If you intend to become pregnant or are already pregnant you should consult your doctor and discuss before using medication. If you are nursing you should consult a doctor. At this stage, studies have not revealed if Ziac is passed through the mother’s breast milk.
- You may experience eye sensitivity while taking this medication and you should avoid exposure to direct sunlight
- Avoid dieting while taking this medication.
Ziac should not be used in the following circumstances:
- in the case of a slow heartbeat
- difficulties in urination
- bronchial asthma
- if you are allergic to one of the components in Ziac or other antibiotics
What happens in the case of an overdose?
There are many side effects in the case of an overdose. The most common side effects while taking Ziac include:
- low blood sugar
- breathing difficulty
- increased urination
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- vomiting
- nausea
Some side effects that they may experience
Rare, but serious side effects that may occur while taking this medication include:
- constipation, diarrhea
- weight gain
- confusion
- fatigue
- headaches
- weak pulse
- chest pain
